The Cannabis Investment Network was founded in 2016 by Ed Harris, CEO of Harris Northwest Advisors LLC, a boutique investment banking firm; and Dante Jones, co-founder of CannAvolve, Inc., a Seattle-based cannabis business accelerator and merchant bank.
Ed is CIN’s investment banking and public markets expert. He founded HNA in 2016 following a successful career as an entrepreneur and Wall Street financier focused on financings and M&A transactions for large U.S. and international clients.
Beginning in the 1990's, Ed served as CFO of three startup companies which he led to liquidity: a wireless company acquired by AT&T for $400 million; an Internet company purchased by Disney for $1 billion; and an online high school purchased by the parent company of the University of Phoenix. Previously, Ed was involved in education innovation, including serving as VP Business Development for Apex Learning, a leading digital curriculum company; and as a key member of the team that managed the venture capital portfolio of Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen. At Vulcan, Ed was responsible for overseeing investments in a wide range of communications and technology companies.
Ed has served on several public company boards, including Edison Schools, acquired by private equity for $190 million; and Click2Learn, which completed a merger of equals with a public competitor valued at $400 million. Reach Ed by phone at (425) 830-0198.
Dante is CIN’s deal flow guru, a recognized cannabusiness leader who has been working in the cannabis industry for nearly 20 years. Prior to co-founding CannAvolve, Inc. with business partner Eric Swaney, Dante worked at Amazon Web Services, leading a large global team in building and deploying new eCommerce and marketing strategies across the Amazon platform. Previously, he led design and infrastructure engineering at Bungie Studios, developer of the Halo and Destiny video games, including Halo 3, the biggest entertainment launch in history.
Dante was a co-founder of Green Ambrosia, Washington State’s first and largest medical marijuana dispensary; and a co-founder of Vuber Technologies, the industry’s premier personal vaporizer which he and Eric sold for 15X their original investment. He has built and successfully liquidated a number of cannabis companies since launching CannAvolve in 2011, including a digital in-store advertising company acquired by Tommy Chong-backed Cannabis Club TV; and a financial services company acquired by a publicly traded health and wellness company for significant cash and stock. Dante owns three recreational retail licenses in Washington State and recently secured nationwide rights to market and distribute revolutionary new line of cannabis-infused inhalers.
Eric is a co-founder of CannAvolve, Inc. who has been involved in the cannabis industry since 2000. Based in Seattle, he shares his expertise in cannabis product development, operations, processing, marketing, government policy, financing, and industrial design with both cannabis start-ups and more established businesses on a global scale. He works closely with Ed and Dante in identifying promising emerging growth companies to present to CIN investors.
Eric is a licensed Tier 3 Producer/Processor in Washington State and former owner of a large-scale outdoor farm in Eastern Washington. He is currently launching a premium brand of cannabis flower and working to secure government licenses for an integrated cannabis retail, tourism and farm operation in Jamaica.
